Emo MuziK
› What iz Emo Muzik
Emocore has been subject of much debate since it first appeared. So...emo is a genre
of rock muzik_! At first, the term waz used to describe a subgenre of hardcore punk in the '80s_! Later, 'emocore' waz used to describe the DC scene and regional scenes related_!!
The biggest names of the period are Fire Party, Rites of Spring, One Last Wish, Embrace, Beefeater, Gray Matter, and Moss Icon_!!
The first wave of emo began to fade after the breakups of most of the involved bands in the early 1990s_! In the mid '90s, 'emo' began to reflect the indie scene that followed the influences of Fugazi_! Bands lyk 'Texas is the reason' and 'Sunny Day Real Estate' introduced a more indie rock style of emo, less violent than it's predecessor_! "Indie emo" survived until the late '90s_! As the remaining indie emo bands entered the mainstream, newer bands began to emulate the more mainstream style, creating a style of muzik that has now earned the moniker emo within popular culture_!!
Whereas, even in the past, the term Emo waz used to identify a wide variety of bands, the breadth of bands listed under today's_!!
Emo is even more vast, leaving the term "emo" as more of a loose identifier than as a specific genre of muzik_!!

♥ Emo Muzik is something that is rather ambiguously defined. It can be something that has heavy punk chords and influence such as what I've heard from the Sex Pistols, but it can also be something with soft melodic characteristics like what I've heard from the Cure. This is why emo is such a hard concept to define. It is an expression of emotion in some way.
♥ Emotions can vary from angry to sad to happy, and emo muzik is an expression of those experiences as well as their range. When it comes to the emo muzik scene, there are many bands that may claim to be the founders of the cultural movement. However, you would have to look across the pond to gloomy England to find the real Kings of emo muzik. The Cure have been going strong now for over 20 years, writing songs that could make any 16 year old boy break into tears, even the football players. Their catchy guitar riffs and honest, emotional vocals have been mimicked by almost every emo artist to date. Another band from across the pond that has definitely influenced the emo muzik scene is Depeche Mode. They might be a primarily electronic band, but their moody lyrics and loner style has crept into every facet of the emo scene.
♥ In recent years emo muzik has even moved away from the punk sound and many bands are
starting to adopt more electronic elements to their sound. Death Cab for Cutie is a perfect example, whose lead singer Ben Gibbard also fronts the entirely electronic project the Postal Service. Emo muzik is becoming very popular among teens.
♥ Emo muzik got its roots from punk rock and the infusion of indie rock. The genre developed in the early 1980’s arguably from such influences as the Cure and Sunny Day Real Estate. In the 1990’s one example of Emo bands would be Fugazi or Texas Is the Reason. Texas Is the Reason is a more indie version of Emo while Fugazi is certainly punk. While a band like Modest Mouse might easily be mistaken for an Emo band because they are punk influenced, highly emotional, and extremely fashionable, they are not Emo. The reason is that their lyrics are more metaphors than straight forwardly emotional lyrics.
♥ Lyrics that talk about crying in despair after a death in the family are Emo. The second lyrics do not leave the listener to wonder what is being expressed. The desert could be a reference to drying out from alcohol abuse or it could be a metaphor for death or bareness. However, Emo muzik could be as potent and raging as something like what I hear from Suicidal Tendencies. The screaming anger and aggression that comes from Suicidal Tendencies is emotional just like Cat Power, but the delivery is much different. The important overarching theme here is in potent Emotions. Some of the contributions to the Emo scene in the last ten years have come from such artists as: Further Seems Forever, the Promise Ring, Benton Falls, or Army of Ponch_!!

Instead of the anger hard-core way of expressing one-self , Emo (short for emotional) has taken a new tole on the twentith century of expressing yourself. From the music with strong emotion and feeling, unlike hard rock or this is more of an alternative way to let your feeling be known.Emo is not only a classification or a type of music it's also taken over the way one expresses themself by dressing. It includes the tighter fiting pants to the dyed-black or dark hair with it covering your face. The longer hair in front with the spikes in the back is also a more Emo- or emotional look to dressing. Emo is also being known as for the hot emo guys and emo girls kissing. From pictures all on the web to the music videos. Hot emo girl to girl and well as hot emo guy to guy is becoming more and more adventurous and more open concluding; Emo meaning being comfortable with oneself. Its a more direct way of altering the feelings one has without words, just emotion. Some say music is not a type of music. That it is more of a fashion and a way of feeling, hence the emotional. Just recently people have been considering emo to be a genre or music.. Taking back Sunday is one of the many bands people consider to be emo.Wondering why everyone hates emo? Emo,yes it is short for emotional. But,there is more to emo then hair and looks. Emo is a state of mind. Most people,made them selves appear emo. While in reality,they have to much hope to be emo. Emo is much like goth. But,goth is Darker. Emo is more emotional,harder to fake. Yes,some emos cut themselves,but there is more than that. Emo is one of the hardest things,to explain. People hate emos,b/c they view us as suicidal,cry babies,or just week. That's NOT what emo is. Suicidal yes,at times. But,don't judge me for being emo. It's not what I chose to be. It's just what I am.

e are.Emo is a music genre,but also a state of mind.If you're emo,don't be afraid of it.It's just who you are!It's perfectly normal to have a sensitive side,although I'm sassy sometimes.I'm really sensitive when 90% of the time.I love being who I am,though I get bullied alot.I don't care.Well,in my opinion,emo is just how people describe over-sensitive people.I write tons of poetry,and I'm in middle school.I am not ashamed to say I like girls,ever since I was 9,I have liked girls.I can't help how I feel! But over the summer,I've changed a bit.I'm not AS sensitive,but I still am.I don't let people put me down.Emo is just about being sensitive and expressing how you feel about something.If you get suicidal thoughts,talk to someone,trust me!Don't make the mistake I did.I am a lot better off without blades.
